I work with behavioral health organizations to develop customized policies and procedures that meet  standards for state licensing and third party accrediting organization standards.  Developing policies and procedures based on your current clinical practices and that integrate effectively into your treatment program takes significant time, energy, and expertise.

Most clinicians want to focus on providing direct clinical care without getting lost in the details of emergency management plans, facility safety assessments, documentation standards, quality improvement, infection control, and maintaining up to date personnel files.  At the same time, small organizations do not have a budget to hire a full-time quality and compliance staff member who would develop and manage these critical aspects of your organization.

As the previous Program Director for an Eating Disorder Treatment Center in Washington State, I managed the organization’s State License and Joint Commission Accreditation.  I understand the challenges of balancing clinical work while meeting the host of requirements that licensing and accreditation activities demand.

It is important that policies and procedures come alive into your organization’s clinical and administrative practices and don’t just exist in a 3-ring binder or electronic file.  I will work with you to ensure customized policy and procedure manuals, related documentation, and practices that meet your organization’s needs, values, and mission.
